Mission Statement
Belleville, established in 1814, is a hallmark of tradition and progress. It is organized and administered to provide all of its residents, businesses, institutions, and visitors with excellent municipal services in a cost-effective and fiscally responsible manner.
To achieve the vision/mission, Belleville's elected officials, its appointed and employed staff, and all individuals who represent the City will:
- Provide high-quality customer service with character, pride, courtesy, and fairness.
- Strive to enhance the quality of life for all of its citizens.
- Engage in ongoing planning and development designed to preserve and enhance the City's traditions and values.
- Involve Belleville citizens in the City's decision-making process through both formal and informal means, including meetings, hearings, advisory boards, commissions, task forces, and committees.
- Provide a City staff that emulates, through its values and performance, the tenets of this Vision/Mission Statement.
